Winning proposal for La Cambre Photography Architecture Biennale 2010.

This works deals with the proposed theme taking as a basis one of its most common interpretation.  Indeed there is an evident link between “celebration places” and “night clubs”. This literal interpretation leads to an observation of places of celebration when celebration itself is absent.
The selected  spaces are meant to be exclusively used for celebration.  The eye of the photographer, in this context, focuses on the existing physical structure, separating it from its purpose:  human crowd.
Showing a place quite away from its traditional and common image leads to a specific view on the subject matter.  This approach makes it possible to reveal the architectural settings in their material dimension. Part of the superfluous and hidden aspects of celebration times are uncovered by the shots.”
